Production History
LOVE! THAT 4-LETTER WORD
was staged for the first time ever at the 200-seat Firehouse
Theater in Newburyport, MA. Through word of mouth, audiences grew larger with each
performance - in spite of miserable winter weather and lots of snow. LOVE! enjoyed a financially
successful run and even broke box office records. Comments from theater goers, heard over and over,
ranged from "I couldn't get the songs out of my head," "There's something in it for everyone,"
and "It was the best two hours I've ever spent" to "It's just as good, if not better than what
I've seen on Broadway." The following year, the show was booked as part of Bradford College’s
Creative Art Series. It played in Bradford’s 500-seat theater, and again broke box office records.
Since then, and in spite of its popularity, the author has enhanced the lyrics and further developed
the script.
The CD for LOVE! was subsequently recorded in front of a
live audience in Los Angeles. Bill Schneider, who arranges vocals for Bette Midler’s touring shows,
came on board as musical director, infusing the music with heart, energy, and his jazzy style.

The production team is now ready to launch the musical
in NYC, with hopes of a long-lasting run off-Broadway. The producers feel the story and the music
will appeal to all ages, and offers terrific opportunity for innovative, cutting-edge choreography.
